With reference to your letter of the 9th Sept last transmitting Copy of a Despatch from the late Lieutenant Governor of Hong Kong relating to the erection of a Light house on the Pratas Shoal in the China Sea, I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to enclose to you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle a Copy of Correspondence which has taken place between this Department and the Foreign Office on the object of the means proposed to pay for the erection & maintenance of the Lights.
